The district auditor has dismissed complaints that Barnet LBC misused public funds by publishing a political advertisement, according to the Barnet and Potters Bar Times.

Barnet LBC Tory leader Liz Mammett complained the advert was illegal as it promoted the council's recent reorganisation and made clear it was the work of the Labour and Liberal Democrat administration.

However Barnet chief executive Max Caller said he had spoken with auditor David Braithwaite and he was satisfied the auditor felt there was nothing requiring further investigation.
