The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities is to call on Scottish secretary Donald Dewar to urgently review local government funding.

COSLA hopes to arrange a meeting with Mr Dewar in the next fortnight, as member authorities begin to feel the effects of severe cuts across services. Glasgow City Council alone was forced to make budget cuts of£80m.
