The Convention of Scottish Local Authorities will next week discuss its withdrawal from the Local Government International Bureau.

A meeting of COSLA's strategy forum will examine a recommendation from a review group which says the convention's strengthening of its European and international affairs section means much of the work undertaken by the LGIB will now be covered in-house.

Councils across Scotland support the move to withdraw from the LGIB to prevent duplication of effort and expense.
