Lewisham LBC partnership manager David Baptiste has been appointed to the board of the Black Roof Community Housing Association.

The Housing Corporation announced today that it has made four statutory appointments to the board of the HA, a registered social landlord which owns 115 homes, and manages a further 72 on behalf of other organisations in Lambeth and Southwark LBCs.

The other appointees are:

-- Raj Kumar, London regional manager, Ealing Family Housing Association

-- Marta Phillips, chairman, Servite Houses

-- Rick Scipio, chief executive, Westway Housing Association

The corporation has placed Black Roof Community Housing Association under supervision as a result of serious concerns arising from the association's failure to meet the requirements of the corporation's Regulatory Code in respect of governance, strategic business planning and financial management. The corporation does not currently have any concerns about the association's financial position. The appointees will provide the association's board with additional skills and expertise in order to address these issues. In the meantime, the corporation will not approve the transfer into Black Roof's ownership any properties which have been developed on Black Roof's behalf by other housing associations.
