A Welsh town council has defended is decision to ban photos of local women wearing just their bras from being put up in the local leisure centre, saying they are too rude, reports The Western Mail (p10).

Sixty women from the town of Llantwit Major stripped to their underwear to take part in a charity run for breast cancer awareness week. They agreed to be photographed and the pictures went on display in the sports centre before the ban was imposed.

A town council spokeswoman said they imposed the ban because they feared the photos could upset children. She said: 'One local businessman said he had several complaints from parents after putting up the poster in his premises.'

But organiser Lucy Hagger described the council's decision as 'prudish and narrowminded.'
