Tendring DC is inviting service providers and utility companies to meet with councillors on a regular basis, the East Anglian Daily Times reported (26 August, p11).

Community services co-ordinating committee chairwoman Rose Lawes said:

'I feel it would be to the advantage of the public and the service providers to have the benefit of meeting together. Elected councillors have close contact with the public, and would be in a position to monitor public needs in areas other than those served by the district council.'
