Wandsworth LBC is planning to clamp down on anti-social behaviour among tenants with a new 'name and shame' campaign, the Sunday Express reported (p16).

Targets will range from criminals, through noisy neighbours to people who let their dogs foul footpaths. They will be told to change their ways or risk losing their council homes.

And before evicting undesirable tenants, the council would also name them in local papers and by sending letters to neighbours detailing their convictions and anti-social behaviour.

The policy, described as the brainchild of housing committee chair Margaret Mervis, has been opposed by civil liberties groups.
