The Corporation of London is creating more cycle paths in and around the City in a bid to encourage people to travel to work by bike, the Independent London section reports (p5).

Barbara Newman, chairwoman of the Corporation's planning and Transport committee said: 'We want more city commuters to use bikes and we want them to have proper stands to cut the number of bikes attached to railings and posts'.

All 33 London boroughs have called on the government to fund a 1200 mile network in the Capital, the paper reports.
