Dame Denise Platt appointed to standards watchdog

Commission for Social Care Inspection chair Dame Denise Platt has been appointed to the Committee on Standards in Public Life (CSPL).

Dame Denise will sit on the committee of the CSLP, which which examines concerns about standards of conduct of all holders of public office, along with the funding of political parties.

Dame Denise has had a lengthy career in social care in both local and national government. In April 2007 Dame Denise completed a review of the 'status of social care' for the Department of Health. Some of her current appointments include:

Oxford's Oriel College provost and former Competition Commission chair Sir Derek James Morris and Tory MP for North East Hertfordshire and former benefit fraud minister Oliver Heald have also been appointed to the CSPL.
