The Northern Echo (10 Dec, p12) carried a feature on a housing estate in Darlington where a young troublemaker and his family have been told to leave, and the paper asked the question: 'Where will they go?'

Darlington BC went to court to get a possession order to move the family on. But the council has said the family will be offered help if they can prove the boy's behaviour is being addressed.

A spokesman said: 'We won't rehouse them although we won't turn our backs on them. But obviously they could cause problems for any other housing provider. We are always trying to amend people's behaviour. We have to be responsible.'
