Denbighshire CC has been warned it risks legal action under the Sex Discrimination Act if it pursues a planned policy of not employing staff who already have a local government or occupational pension.

The LGMB and Equal Opportunities Commission have said it could be guilty of indirect discrimination against men if it implements the proposed policy as men are far more likely to have such pensions than women.

The authority has referred the decision back pending further advice.
