A 40-year-old has been appointed the new chief executive of Teesdale DC.

Neil Stokell, who is currently the assistant director for service development with Tamworth BC, will take up his new post in July.

Mr Stokell said today: 'I am excited by this new role and am looking forward to the challenge of building on the progress which has been made under the outgoing chief executive Kingsley Smith.'

Ken Robinson, leader of Teesdale DC, said: 'The Council has been through a thorough appointment process and, in appointing Neil, now expects to build on the hard work done by everyone at the Council over the last 18 months.'
