Membership of the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC) is currently being reviewed by the Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions.

The department is seeking applications for the post of chairman as well as for members of the committee. Appointments will last for three years and will start from 1 January 1999.

Applications are being sought from people with a strong background in transport and disability issues, who are committed to improving the mobility of disabled people.

Disabled people, women and people from ethnic minority communities would be particularly welcome to apply. Applications should be returned by 31 October.

NOTES

1. The Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC) was set

up under the Transport Act 1985 to advise the Secretary of State on transport matters affecting the mobility of disabled people.
