The Association of London Government's lead finance officer, Mike DuBock, has left to become an independent adviser.

Mr DuBock, who has spent the past 10 years working for London local government organisations, had been the ALG's deputy secretary (finance) since the association was formed in 1995.

He was previously deputy secretary with the now defunct London Boroughs Association, moving there from Bromley LBC in 1988 after working with Lewisham and Lambeth LBCs.

Former Manchester City Council treasurer Peter Short is standing in as a locum deputy secretary at the ALG until a decision is made on a permanent replacement for Mr DuBock.
