The Audit Commission has developed a new web site to help commissioners and providers develop and improve diabetes services. The website presents the data from a national programme of audits of diabetes services in more than 70 hospital trusts around the country.
Last year the commission that some parts of the NHS were struggling to meet the increasing demand on diabetes services in England and Wales.
Later this year the website will be updated to include examples of innovative practice in health authorities and primary care organisations from around the country.
Andrew Foster, controller of the Audit Commission, said: 'The introduction of the diabetes website builds upon the findings of the Testing Times report and will allow trusts to compare their performance with others to identify where progress can be made.'
