A high court judgment has ordered East Sussex Council to meet the tuition costs of a girl with ME forced to stay home from school.

Reported in the Independent (p7), the decision said the LEA had acted unlawfully when it cut the hours of the 15 year old's home tuition to make savings.

Her parents claimed the cut had affected her chances of success in GCSE exams.

The council was considering whether to appeal.
