A report due out next week is expected to reveal widespread subsidy fraud within the European Union, the Daily Mail reports (p1).

The report says the EC's common agricultural policy (CAP) is the focus of the fraud problem with farmers earning millions of pounds in subsidies they are not entitled to.

Olive oil producers in Portugal, Greece and Spain are thought to have got away with hundreds on millions of pounds through fiddled returns to Brussels, but the report will also spotlight fraud among northern European producers of milk, beef and grain.
