The government may be forced to rethink its Education Bill, which would create a teacher training agency and restrict the use of student union funds for political activity, the Financial Times reports (p6).

The Bill has met strong opposition in the Commons and the Lords, and ministers are reported to be uneasy about moving it forward to Lords committee stage where it would be scrutinised line by line.
