The London borough of Bexley is denying liability for an incident in which a schoolgirl suffered brain damage after an asthma attack in class, reports The Daily Telegraph (p7).

The High Court heard yesterday that Beryl Brown, a teacher at Riverside School in Erith, south-east London, was mainly to blame for the tragedy suffered by the young woman because she did not call for help soon enough, says the paper.
