A woman firefighter is expected to win a six figure sum from a county council after an appeals tribunal agreed she was hounded out of her job by sexual discrimination and bullying.

Hereford and Worcester CC defended its decision to appeal against the original industrial tribunal ruling in favour of Tania Clayton, despite having one of its grounds for appeal described by the judge as an 'abuse of the appeals process'.

County personnel officer Helen Froud said: 'The reason for appealing was to contest the way the tribunal used some of its evidence and took decisions in court.
