The new South Lanarkshire UA will become the first unitary authority in Scotland to receive an Employment Service Disability Symbol at a presentation in Hamilton on Tuesday, 16 January.

The presentation will be made by Reverend John Potter, a member of the local Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities, and will be received by cllr Tom McCabe, Leader of South Lanarkshire Council.

The Employment Service launched the Disability Symbol four years ago in an effort to encourage organisations to adopt positive employment policies towards disabled people.
