Neath and Port Talbot CBC are planning to take over parking enforcement to help it solve traffic congestion problems, particularly in the town centre area, the Western Mail reports (p5).

Chief constable Tony Burden told a meeting of the South Wales Police Authority that if the proposals went ahead, they would be the first council in Wales to adopt the role of parking enforcers.
