Speeding drivers in Leicestershire could soon see their speed flash up in front of them on roadside displays, reports BBC Leicestershire.

It is part of a joint project by the county council and police to install mobile red light cameras and permanent speed recorders after five years of research.

the county council's assistant chief engineer, Nick Hodges, says they will be operated first on Leicester's ring road to create a cordon round the city. There are 100 accidents a year on the ring road.
