A supplement in the The Western Mail focuses on the regeneration of the Caerphilly CBC since the merger of the Islwyn and Rhymney Valley authorities.

According to an article on p1, with a new county borough came a new identity and impetus to replace the traditional industries with new investment.

A package of regeneration schemes which has transformed part of the town of Caerphilly and helped double the number of visitors has been named in a national award scheme.

The council and the Welsh Development Agency have won the best designed town centre redevelopment award of the British Council of Shopping Centres.

The supplement also carried articles on industrial growth (p3), tourism (p4) and housing (p6).
