The Yorkshire Post carries a 12-page supplement focusing on regional developing, which includes an article by Daivd Blunkett, the education secretary.

Mr Blunkett sets out how government funding will benefit the Yorkshire region. He says: 'I am pleased that last week Yorkshire was awarded a total of£108m under the single regneration budget to support economic and social development.

'South Yorkshire will benefit from an investment of£740m over the next seven years from the European structural funds to help tackle its particular problems,' he writes.
