Isle of Anglesey CC is being taken to an industrial tribunal by a former housing director, reported the Daily Post (Jan 15, p14).

John Jones has filed a claim for unfair dismissal and breach of contract.

Mr Jones was sacked by the council's staff sub-committee on October 21 last year following the publication of a critical district auditor's report.

He is awaiting trial for alleged misconduct in public office, perverting the course of justice and intimidating witnesses. He denies the charges.

It is alleged Mr Jones failed to comply with standing orders in connection with big housing projects, including one at Holyhead.
