Richard Way, a former chairman of London Transport during the 1970s, has died aged 84, reports an obituary in The Guardian (p20).

The ex-student at the Polytechnic Secondary School in London also served as a civil servant for 33 years, becoming permanent secretary at the Ministry of Aviation in 1963.
