The Scotsman (p6) reports that former leader of Renfrew DC Olga Clayton has been cleared of any wrongdoing by party officials (see LGCNet, 17/7/95, RENFREW MEMBERS FACE SURCHARGE IN SECURITY FIRM INVESTIGATION). Accusations centred on Clayton over her directorship of Ferguslie Community Business which, it was alleged, had links with criminals. Clayton denied any wrongdoing following her suspension, and yesterday the Labour Party confirmed that investigators had found she had no case to answer.
