The Financial Times (p11) carries the story of Labour's protest yesterday at the delayed publication of an independent report thought to be damaging against Westminster LBC, and stalled, say Labour, to limit the impact on next year's local elections.

The report, carried out amidst allegations of political 'gerrymandering' in the borough, was the subject of two Commons motions yesterday and accused councillors of causing 'as much hindrance to the district auditor as they can'.

Peter Bradley, Westminster LBC's deputy Labour leader said the government would not have tolerated such delays during an investigation into a Labour council.
