Scottish secretary Michael Forsyth MP has announced additional funding of £381,800 towards a multi-media campaign focusing on two distinct groups - youth and the older Scot - by Scotland Against Drugs.

He said: 'I have decided, in view of the grave concerns all of us have about drugs in our country, to make further funding available for this innovative all-party campaign, which I am pleased to support.

'A recently publicised survey of 10,000 Scottish children shows clearly the extent of this problem amongst young Scots. Radical action is required to tackle this.

'The advertisements involved here are the results of extensive research among the target audiences and I am sure they will make a positive contribution towards changing the drugs culture in Scotland.'
