Transport professionals from across the south west will be heading for Exeter at the end of the month for a forum focusing on issues facing transport in the region.
The regional transport forum will be held on 23 June. The event is being organised by the South West Regional Assembly, who have a statutory responsibility to prepare the regional transport strategy as part of the wider regional spatial strategy.
The forum brings together leading figures from the world of transport, including industry, service providers, transport users groups and government. Almost a hundred delegates will take part in a number of workshops to explore issues such as transport in rural areas, congestion, the movement of freight and connecting the south west to London and other regions whilst taking into account key social, economic and environmental issues affecting the region.
Findings from the forum will help determine future transport solutions for the south west and ensure that transport is integral to development in the region over the next 20 years.
