The government will cease overfunding of grant-maintained schools, education minister, Baroness Blatch, told a delegation from the AMA yesterday.

The minister told the AMA that any discrepancies in funding would quickly disappear as new funding arrangements are introduced.

AMA education chair, Graham Lane, added: 'They were unable to supply a satisfactory reason why the Technology Colleges money, announced in the autumn, is to be available only to GM and Voluntary Aided schools.'
