Gillingham BC has moved a step closer to converting an Edwardian laundry into a centre for community activities, by appointing a Paris-based architect to develop its plans.

An architectural competition for the Sunlight Laundry in Richmond Road, Gillingham attracted entrants from around the world.

The winner of the competition was Morrison Brink Architecture, who will accommodate plans to convert the laundry into both a health and skills centre, among other uses.
