Glasgow has unveiled detailed routes for a light railway system that will cross the north of the city, the FT reports (p6).

Strathclyde RC, who are the transport authority for the city, hope the £150m scheme can br operational by 2002.

The 20km tram service will run along a mixture of dedicated track and city streets and will be aimed at areas that are poorly linked to public transport at the moment, the paper reports.
