Labour's move to more right-wing policies has prompted two Scottish Labour activists to defect to the Scottish National Party, the Scotsman reports (p4).

City of Glasgow councillor Yvonne Anderson and unsuccessful 1992 Labour election candidate Stewart McLennan, have switched to the SNP just days before the general election.

Scottish Labour general secretary Jack McConnell said Ms Anderson was under internal Labour disciplinary investigation because of her performance as a councillor and was no loss to the party.
