Glasgow's education authority has been warned of possible strike action by teachers over proposed cuts and compulsory redundancies, reports The Glasgow Herald (p7).

The Educational Institute of Scotland union has written to Glasgow city council threatening action after its members voted unaminously for strikes.

The union has proposed a moratorium on all education cuts in Scotland, in the hope that an incoming Labour government will reverse budget cuts.
