Glendale Grounds Management has landed a£30m contract to run and improve Lewisham LBC's parks until 2010.

The deal is Glendale's biggest ever contract win. Managing director Larry Jones said: 'This is a fantastic opportunity for us. We believe we have been chosen because of our record for quality results and our total commitment to all aspects of running the parks.'

Lewisham's deputy for the environment, Paul Fallon, said: 'This ground-breaking 10-year partnership deal will deliver more attractive, cleaner safer parks that are welcoming to all members of the community.'

Glendale plans to invest£1.5m in the borough's parks over the next three years.
