Gloucester City Council has spent £120,000 ensuring that no souvenirs of the horrors of Fred and Rosemary West's house at 25 Cromwell Street in the city fall into the hands of ghoulish collectors.

The Daily Mail (Oct 12, p29) reported that the house has been razed to the ground and that every brick and beam of the structure will be burned or ground to dust.

The council is now considering the future of the site.
