Carmarthenshire CC has launched a partnership scheme with a nearby town council which devolves funding for services.

The council has already carried out pilot projects with town and community councils and the success of these has resulted in the plan to devolve funding.

Pam Palmer (Ind) said: 'The community partnerships scheme is a result of consultation with Carmarthenshire's 73 town and community councils. This has provided us with the opportunity to establish a framework that covers a core set of services and functions.'
