The Treasury has released internal briefing papers under the Freedom of Information Act relating to the protection of private finance initiative projects.

Files covering the Treasury's discussions in July and August 2004 of contingency plans to cover the possibility of the PFI contractor Jarvis going bust including analysis undertaken by the Treasury of the issue, and any contingency plans put in place were made available on the department's website yesterday.
