The Government is to provide £60,000 to aid the expansion of the Edinburgh International Science Festival, William Waldegrave, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for science announced today.

The festival, the largest of its kind in the world, is to receive £60,000 over the next two years from the Office of Science and Technology.

Announcing the grant, Mr Waldegrave said: ' These grants will help the festival increase 'outreach' activities at local level throughout the UK and develop the international dimension of the festival.'
