The Independent on Sunday reported (p4) on the rise of the government 'task force', introduced by a party which heavily criticised the Conservative party's reliance on quangos).

It says a glance at the list of new task forces provides ammunition for the claim that Labour is providing jobs for its friends.

Christopher Haskins, head of the Better Regulation Task Force charged with looking into regulation in government departments and the powers of local government, is cited by way of example. Mr Haskins, also chairman of Northern Foods, is a long-time Labour supporter.
