Camden LBC has welcomed the government U-turn on deregulation of London buses.

The Planning and Transport committee Chair, Deborah Sacks said: 'On evidence from regional cities there would be no improvement in services and fares would be likely to increase. Also, the deregulation proposals take no account of the degree of traffic congestion in London.'

Camden is still concerned at plans to privatise London's buses and called for investment into new buses to improve public transport.
