'Go-ahead green' Suffolk Coastal DC has axed kerbside collection of cans and textiles because it is costing too much, says the East Anglian Daily Times (p12).

One councillor, David Rowe, described the decision as 'ironic and ridiculous'.

He said the project, part of the council's Recycle 2000 initiative, had not been given enough time to catch on.
