Greenwich LBC solicitor, Judith Barnes, said the authority was 'satisfied' with the outcome of the high court hearing into the man who threatened to 'do a Dunblane' in local schools.

She said it was the prison service that informed the council about Mr Jennings' threat to 'do a Dunblane'.

The council, along with the police and the attorney general, who was represented in court today, took his remarks seriously 'particularly as Mr Jennings has been imprisoned for violent acts against council staff before and has had injunctions taken out against him before'.

Ms Barnes added: 'Mr Jennings' solicitor admitted his client had indeed made these remarks.

'Greenwich council had the support of local parents and local teachers in its efforts.

'The safety of our children is our priority and we will expend any effort to ensure that we do our best to maintain safety in schools and the safety of Greenwich staff'.
