Hackney LBC last night sacked housing director Bernard Crofton, reports The Guardian (p8).

A disciplinary sub-committee found him guilty of five charges of gross misconduct.

Bernard Crofton had made allegations of recruitment fraud and accused the black head of personnel, Sam Yeboah, of deliberately failing to take action.

The panel decided that Bernard Crofton was guilty of racial harassment against Sam Yeboah, now assistant chief executive.

Mr Crofton's supporters say he will appeal against the decision which had failed to address the allegations of fraud reports, The Guardian.
