Barking & Dagenham LBC is considering legal action against an infants' school head teacher who refuses to help a boy take his medication.

The Daily Telegraph reports (p11) that the head believes the five year old cystic fibrosis sufferer should have medical supervision when he takes his 14 pills at lunchtime.

A department of education spokesman said: 'We are drawing up new guidelines to help schools and local education authorities to adopt procedures for supporting children with medical conditions.' (p11).
