A total of 6,000 adults and 2,000 children are to receive a 14 page questionnaire this month as part of one of the biggest ever surveys of public health in the region, the Northern Echo reports. The people who live on the Woodhouse Close estate in Bishop's Auckland appear to have an unusually high proportion of asthma sufferers among them.

The survey is part of a pollution testing programme.
