Mercury, Schroders, Baillie Gifford and Jupiter all manage the£1.1 billion Hertfordshire pension fund. The fund managers operate on a balanced basis. But Hertfordshire treasury manager Jill Laycock said the county was now interested in 'dipping its toe into a bit of specialist management'. The specialist portfolio will be worth between£50 million and£100m. The deadline for receipt of applications is 8 December.
