Protesters against the proposed Newbury bypass are preparing for the latest stage of their campaign as the Highways Agency prepares to take them to the High Court, reports the Times (p6).

The Highways Agency is attempting to evict protesters from a network of tree houses and tunnels set up to prevent work on the bypass, which they say will destroy some of the most beautiful countryside in southern England.
